So be sure you are getting this 2nd-generation model. To make things even more confusing, there is an earlier version of the 14 that has no active digitizer. That is a traditional Wacom pen and will work on the ThinkPad Yoga 12 2-in 1, but not on the 14. On Amazon and other sites, there is something called the Lenovo ThinkPad Active Digitizer Pen. It also has a holder that attaches to the laptop via a USB port. (Since this is multitouch, you can use any old capacitive stylus–such as for the iPad–on this, but with no pressure sensitivity). To get pressure sensitivity, you must use the ThinkPad Active Capacitive Pen, also called the Lenovo ThinkPad Pen Pro. Bamboo ink not working with lenovo yoga windows#If you go to see this computer and want to see that it actually has Wacom, simply type the word Wacom into the Windows search box and the Wacom settings will pop up in the search results. ES (also called AES) tends to have a lower hover distance. Bamboo ink not working with lenovo yoga pro#(That does not mean that all the pens will work on all of them.) The drawing/painting experience won’t be quite as fluid as Wacom EMR, but it requires less initial activation force (amount you have to press down to get a mark) than the Surface Pro 3, which is N-Trig, so you won’t have to worry about having to press hard. ![]() It’s the same tech used in the Toshiba Encore 2 Write. It has the 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity of Wacom, with the better edge accuracy of N-trig. Wacom ES feels somewhere in between N-trig and traditional Wacom EMR. You cannot use that kind of pen with the 14. The ThinkPad Yoga 12 uses traditional Wacom EMR technology, so you could use a regular Wacom pen such as the type you use for the original Surface Pro and Surface Pro 2, and attain 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity. The 14 uses Wacom ES, which is sort of like a marriage between Wacom EMR and N-trig. The PC’s weight, while light for its size, it’s a lot to tote around for long periods of time. The Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14 has military-grade protection for shock, vibration, sand and dust. The computer is solid and should be a brawny travel companion. Thanks!Īs a side note I reinstalled Adobe Premiere and the pen is no longer working with it either. I was hoping someone here might have a solution. I've tried reaching out to wacom and MS but never heard anything back. Again, if I click with the mouse all the control points I attempted to place with the pen will process very quickly and show on the screen. That being said if I click with the mouse all the actions I've tried to do with the pen process really quickly.Īnother example is if I select the pen tool (ps tool) and try to use the pen (wacom pen) it'll only place the first control point down and no other. If I go to change the tool, the sub menus will appear but I wont be able to select anything. If I tap the screen with the pen it'll place a dot (brush tool) but it will not create a stroke if I drag the pen. For example if I create a new file I can draw for a second then it'll stop. The best way I can describe the issue is the pen is getting stuck in a "clicked" state. Everything has been updated to the latest drivers. ![]() I just reformatted the laptop just to make sure and this issue is still there. I was wondering if someone might be able to help me out. (previously was turned off to fix the pen from a previous win10 build) Turn back on Press and Hold for Right-click. I have got it working for the moment, but I am not sure why this has fixed the issue. ![]()
